Aquatera brings 14 years' experience to the partnership and hopes to export its expertise to enable developments in France as it has done in the Scottish marine energy sector as well as other countries across the world such as Chile, USA, and Japan.

“Aquatera is delighted to cement this excellent collaboration with Open Ocean. We have been exploring opportunities in France for some time and it’s great to see this level of activity supported by the regional governments," said Aquatera managing director Gareth Davies.

The agreement was made at the International Conference on Ocean Energy in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and will see the two companies combining their skills for resource and environmental assessments, programme development and planning.
