Shermco adds new on-site maintenance and safety training

Shermco Industries has added Wind Generation Substation Maintenance and Safety programme to its training offerings.

Shermco will perform 21 on-site classes at wind farms around the USA through March 2009 and is currently taking bookings for beyond March.

The new training programme is designed to train wind industry professionals on the maintenance of electrical power system equipment located at the wind generation site while covering the use and interpretation of single-line diagrams.

The programme covers all of the testing and maintenance procedures and required electrical safety principals needed to be OSHA compliant in the wind industry.

“There has been a lot of interest in shoring up the electrical skills and knowledge of those in the industry to be OSHA compliant and this is our response to meet those demands,” said Ron Widup, executive vice president of Shermco Industries.
